Trip to Hong Kong 29 Dec 2008 to 3 Jan 2009 - Day 4

1 Jan 2009
Day 4 into my Hong Kong trip... As we reached our hotel at around 3 - 4am, we decided to sleep till late morning... After which we went to eat our breakfast at Garden Street... A long search before we found the place, and around the place, there are so many things to buy and we begun our day with shopping again... We bought strawberries (yes, my favourite) and it cost only S$1.50 per punnet and all are sweet....
After that, we went back to the hotel as Shawn was grumbling about being tired and we decided to come out on our own without Joanne's hubby and Shawn. Went to 女人街 again for last minute shopping as that is our last day over there and we will be going to Hong Kong Disneyland after that. At around 7.30pm, we went to Avenue of Stars to watch a laser show as we are meeting some friends as well. Another Hong Kong friend of mine, Betty brought us to a place to eat our dinner.

After the dinner, we went back to our hotel and passed by Temple Street. Along Temple Street, there is a street full of Fortune Tellers and Tarot Card reading.. As Joanne wanted to try it out but not sure if it is accurate anot, so she wanted me to be the guinea pig... I chose one and mentioned I wanted Palm reading, and he went on to tell me about my "fortune-telling"... He is so accurate that he even told me I have problems with my tonsils and ask me to be careful. I had removed my tonsils already and he mentioned that I will have good fortune after marriage and will bring luck to my hubby in future and is a person who can go into business line and business will definitely prosper as time goes by.. He is so accurate that I was so shocked.. But when it came to payment, I got even more shocked... HK300 which is equivalent to S$70 for 15 minutes of fortune telling... As I paid up and Joanne said to go back to hotel... She was also freaked out by the pricing and decided not to have her fortune told... Poor Me... Lolz.. No worries, I did not blame you lah... Haha.. Back to Hotel and packed our luggages as the next morning, we will leave our hotel for Hong Kong Disneyland... Slept at about 2am....

Trip to Hong Kong 29 Dec 2008 to 3 Jan 2009 - Day 3

31 Dec 2008
Early morning, we went to a Dim Sum restaurant for breakfast...
After which we took a bus to Ocean Park and yeah... we reached in less than 30 minutes of bus ride. Per ticket cost HK208 per adult.

Me and Pey Jiin...

After which we split into 2 groups (AGAIN) and we went to take the cable car to the place where most rides and the dolphin shows are... The cable car ride took about 20 minutes but to me, it feels like 2 hours as I have a phobia for height... In fact all of us are hoping to reach asap... Finally we reached after 20 minutes and we went to watch the Dolphin Show and it was great....

After that, we walk around and took some rides.... And we also went to view the Pandas that were given to Hong Kong by China...

We left the Ocean Park at about 5pm as we need to go back to the hotel and change as we are meeting some friends from Taiwan at Harbour City. And we went to Burger King and 3 sets of meal costs HK300, which means each meal is HK100 and it is equivalent to S$20 per meal. After that we went to Victoria Harbour Centre for New Year Countdown. After that, it took us 3 hours to reach our hotel, even though it will take us less than half an hour to walk to back from Tsam Sha Tsui... Nothing much to say about this New Year Countdown as it is a simple but tired countdown...

Trip to Hong Kong 29 Dec 2008 to 3 Jan 2009 - Day 2

I am back to blog again... Let me continue on my trip to Hong Kong.... :p

30 Dec 2008

Early morning, we went to a coffee place for breakfast, the store is just beside our hotel, and the food is good... Finally ate a good meal, I thought to myself... After breakfast, we took the MTR to Shatin as we wanted to bring the kids to a Snoopy Playground and at the same time, the adults could shop at the shopping centre as well. But it was quite disappointed as there is nothing much to shop and the playground proved to be a disappointment as well... So we decided to leave the place about 2 hours later...

Joanne and her family...
We also took the MTR back to our hotel and we stepped into the wrong cabin and we went into the "First Class" cabin and upon realising we are in the wrong cabin, we alighted and waited for another train as taking first class cabin without first class ticket will be fined HK500 per person. We went to Jordan for lunch and again, disappointment again... The meal costs about HK500 and it was not nice AT ALL... After that we split into two groups and walked and shopped on our own... (Yuen Ping with her family and Me, Pey Jiin with Joanne and Family)
First Class Cabin of the MTR
And we shopped around Tsam Sha Tsui and in the evening, a Hong Kong friend of mine, Hilda met me at the hotel and we went to Mong Kok to buy sports shoes as Joanne's hubby wanted a pair and Joanne bought a NIKE jacket... (She aimed for it when she saw it in JB two months ago.) And after that, we ate the "Smelly Toufu" and some nice finger food... After which we went to eat at Sham Shui Po... The dinner was GREAT... We ate a steamboat and many little dishes which I had never eaten before.. I was really happy and Hilda is really a nice girl.. She saw Shawn and bought Shawn a Nike small Soccer Ball which costs HK75, and she bought us the dinner which costs about HK500 but it was the best dinner I had throughout my 6 days in Hong Kong.. During the dinner, we drank some beer and Joanne's hubby fed Shawn a little beer and he went red in the face and went on to talk continuously.. Only then did we realised that Shawn is a little drunk and we laughed all the way...
My Best Dinner Treat By Hilda
Look at his face after he drank some beer...
He is DRUNK....
After that we left the place and went back to the hotel... But that is not the end yet, we also went to 女人街 again to shop and we bought some hair clips, bags and also sun shades.. Finally a fruitful day to end with....

Trip to Hong Kong 29 Dec 2008 to 3 Jan 2009 - Day 1

First time leaving Singapore to such a far country... Was so excited about it... I could fly on a plane (finally) and also going to Hong Kong with my best friends, Joanne, Yuen Ping and Pey Jiin. We reached Yuen Ping's house the night before as the flight is at 9am and we have to reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport by 7am to check in.

29 Dec 2008

We woke up at 5am and prepared ourselves and at 5.40am, the "bus" to fetch us to KLIA arrived and it was so small to fit in 8 adults and 2 kids, not forgetting our luggages. So we had to squeeze and endured during the one-hour journey. Reaching KLIA, we proceeded to check in and also had our breakfast. We went into the departure hall and took some pictures as well.

Me and Joanne
Upon reaching Hong Kong airport, we proceed out to look for the person in charge of bringing us to the hotel. While waiting for Pey Jiin (she is taking another flight) to arrive, we were taking pictures at the airport. When Pey Jiin arrived, we took the hotel transfer and it took us one hour to get to the hotel. We also booked a tour to go to the Peak and also the Madam Tussads Wax Museum. So at 5pm the bus came and took us for a dinner at a restaurant and Joanne had the urge for some soft drink and she ordered a bottle of 2 litres of Pepsi and it COSTS HK25 (which is about S$5.00). After that we went to the Peak and the view is soooo nice....

It is Me again....

After enjoying the view at the Peak, we went ahead to Madam Tussads Wax Museum. I took many pictures there, but most of it in Pey Jiin's camera.. I will load it when I get the pictures from her some time after chinese new year. I will upload the one below and it is Jay Chou.... Haha...

Me with Jay Chou...

After the wax mesuem, we sat on top of a open-top bus and tour around Mongkok. Our last top is at 女人街 and for Joanne, it is her time for shopping again.. Wahaha... and she said she is glad to have me with her as I will always slash pricing for her.. But end up on sour note as her son keeps complaining of legs are tired and also cannot walk, and for your info, he did not walk much as Joanne has specially bought a pram (for kids) and it rained, so we all went back to the hotel and Joanne and me came out (AGAIN) to shop nearby, we are staying beside Temple Street (庙街) and we ate some not-very-nice dim sum and after a while, we went back to hotel and came to an end for your first day in Hong Kong...
